Sankalp Suraksha Run – Edition One
A United Stand for Child Safety
The Purpose of the Run
According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), reports indicate a 96% increase in sexual violence against children from 2016 to 2022, with 162,000 cases reported in 2022 alone. These alarming statistics demand urgent and collective action.
Sankalp, a registered NGO, has been dedicated to raising awareness about child sexual abuse through classroom and online sessions and impactful visual campaigns through posters in Government and Private schools in Telangana, reaching over 100000 children and adults.
However, to amplify the message of child safety and prevention of child sexual abuse and ensure the message reaches a wider audience, paving the way for child safety, Sankalp has organized a Marathon that serves as a dynamic platform to spread awareness, mobilize communities, and drive social change.
Our goal is to support the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal 16.2 – Zero Violence Against Children by 2030 by raising awareness of child safety, preventing abuse, and promoting a secure future for children. Also we envision that this initiative helps educate, engage policymakers, and encourage preventive measures to ensure every child grows up in a safe environment.
